CARE & CLEANING

The finishing touch on every ROHL Collection is its exquisite surface. Great care has been taken to ensure the final step in the manufacturing - whether it is a sink, faucet, fitting or an accessory - delivers perfection. Like any quality item, no matter how durable, care should be taken when cleaning and maintaining these finishes.

FAUCETS, FITTINGS AND ACCESSORIES - FINISHES

All ROHL Collections have a distinctively soft, warm, genuine feel when compared to products made with synthetic coatings. ROHL Collections are hand polished followed by the application of the true metal compounds represented in the finish name.

No matter which finish, following a few simple steps will keep your kitchen and bath fixtures looking beautiful:

● Pat the fixture dry with a soft cloth after each use.
● Occasionally use a mild, clear liquid soap (neutral PH balance) and water to gently clean your faucet - DO NOT use Dove, colored soap or anti-bacterial soap as they will leave a residue that could harm the finish
● When necessary, a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water or Simple Green® may be applied to remove hard water deposits. DO NOT soak the product in the solution. Vinegar is a mild acid that will harm the product with prolonged contact. Premix in a squirt bottle, spray, clean, rinse with water, wipe and dry. Use a toothbrush to break-up mineral deposits. THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR LIVING/UNLACQUERED FINISHES.
● Avoid all cleaning products that contain ammonia, bleach, alcohol and abrasives.

● Polished Chrome is the most durable of all ROHL finishes
● Pat dry regularly to avoid hard water spots
● If minerals or salt accumulate on the fixture, clean by applying a 50/50 solution of white vinegar and water, rinse with water and pat dry
● DO NOT soak fixture in vinegar solution or allow vinegar to soak onto the finish
● Spray weekly with fresh water, wipe, dry and apply Flitz Wax or Bruno’s Faucet Wax
● In freezing temperatures, winterize fixtures by removing cartridges, drain all water or store fixtures indoors

SINKS, FIXTURES AND SANITARY WARE - MATERIALS

The materials used to make ROHL Collections are locally sourced from the regions where the products are made. Inherent in the integrity of ROHL Collections is the ability to trace the raw materials back to its place of origin.

ROHL sink, sanitary ware and fixtures are crafted from a variety of materials. Each has unique properties that enhance the color and/or finish of the item.

FIRECLAY

Available in two varieties, high-grade Heavy Ball and Fine Fireclay, these clays withstand temperatures of 2200ºF. As a result of the high temperature, the clay and glaze fuse together to create an extremely durable material that is virtually impervious to staining agents and is highly resistant to chipping, cracking or breaking.

Heavy ball fireclays are found in limited areas around the world. Their scarce deposits are due to the combination of geological factors needed for their formation and preservation. England and France are two such regions where fireclay is mined.

Cleaning – Use a mild abrasive (Bon Ami®) and soft sponge or cloth. Daily cleaning with abrasives or pads will not harm the surface. Periodically waxing the sink will facilitate faster draining.

Maintaining - Astonish cleaner may be used should a mark or scuff need to be removed.

STAINLESS STEEL

ROHL Stainless Steel is a commercial grade non-corrosive 18/10 type 304 alloy produced in 16 gauge. This tough material is used in residential and commercial environments.

Cleaning – Use cleaning products specifically designed for Stainless Steel, such as ROHL RSSCleaner Cream. Be sure products are cream based and do not contain solid particles that may scratch the material. Abrasive products are not recommended. Use of harsh chemicals will void the warranty.

Maintaining – Wash sink daily with mild dish soap and water. Thoroughly rinse and dry after use. Wash with warm water and 10-15% vinegar solution to remove oily substances. Rinse and dry. Be sure to avoid strikes, dropping heavy objects and sharp utensils that can scratch the finish. Avoid contact with chemicals, metal products and metal brushes. Do not leave tomato residue, milk or coffee on the surface for extended periods. Prolonged contact with any of the noted substances may start an electromagnetic corrosive attack.

PORCELAIN/VITREOUS CHINA

ROHL Collection Porcelain hails from the Staffordshire region of England. Here fine bone china has been made, using the locally available clay, since the early 18th century.
